Vitamin E

Posted by Peter Simon on September 21, 1998 at 10:47:16:

I did a search in this forum for references to the use of vitamin E for restless legs, and only found one, so I thought I'd share what I know about it, which is not a whole lot. The use of vitamin E to alleviate my restless leg problem was first suggested to me by a psychiatrist (of all people) about ten years ago. I then heard it recommended by a "sleep doctor" on a CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.).

Initially, when I was bothered by restless leg I would get up and take 1000 IU of vitramine E. Relief would be instantaneous. I now take 1000 IU before going to bed for other (medical) reasons and am never bothered by restless leg unless I forget to take my meds.

It could be a placebo effect or there might be some physical reason why it works. I don't care. It solved my problem.
